The Village
San Galgano Monks affirmed in Asciano like colonizer and reclaimer. They administered various properties, lands, and farms in many area of this territory. Their largest properties were in the countryside around Palazzo Monaci (once called palazzo a’ Monaci), along the road for Chiusure, on the hills that set down on the west side to Ombrone valley and on the east side face to the Cella hill. In palazzo Monaci was built a chapel dedicated to San Galgano.
The building, once property of marquis Bargagli, extends up on a hill and has a 360° view over the surrounding countryside. We have restored the two bodies of the building, one in travertine stone (the palace) and the other in bricks with open gallery of sixteenth century, that delimits the court of the farm. The building is composed by small apartments separated and divided in 28 flats, 24 on two floors, only 4 on one floor (ground floor o first floor). Every apartment is composed by : living room with kitchen corner, one or two bathroom, one or two bedrooms. Any of them have terrace or external veranda at the ground floor. It extends in an area of 18.000mq with aged-old olive trees and has two swimming pools and one is hydro-massage.
The apartments type A 2+2pax (mq 55) are or at the ground floor or on two floors or at the first floor and they have 1 bedroom, a bathroom, a nice living-room with divan-bed and a fire place.
The apartments type B superior 4+2pax (mq85) are at the ground floor, on two floors or at the first floor and they have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a nice living-room with divan-bed and a fire place.
